MX record lookup
MX records tell the world which servers accept mail for your domain. Without them, replies, bounces and DMARC reports have nowhere to go.
What a good MX setup looks like
One or more MX records, each pointing to a hostname (never an IP address) that resolves. A lower number means higher priority. Google Workspace now uses a single record, smtp.google.com. Microsoft 365 uses <your-domain>.mail.protection.outlook.com.

Questions
Do I need MX records if I only send email?
Usually, yes. Replies, bounce notices and DMARC reports all need somewhere to land. A domain that genuinely never receives mail can publish a "null MX" (0 .) to say so.
